Amami Oshima Island is located halfway between Kagoshima and Okinawa Prefectures. You can enjoy cuisine unique to Amami Oshima, which has a different food culture from that of the mainland. The restaurant offers several kinds of “obanzai” dishes made by hand every day, including “Akarinton,” Amami's brand pork, and Amami's aosa nori (seaweed). For lunch, we also offer the Amami's specialty “Chicken rice set”. Chicken rice, a traditional dish originating from the tropical island of Amami Oshima, comes with two kinds of obanzai. The dish consists of softly cooked rice topped with a variety of colorful ingredients, including slow-cooked minced chicken, egg, shiitake mushrooms, chopped green onions, dried seaweed, and hand-made pickled papaya. The rich flavor of the chicken broth soaks into the rice and spreads to the palate, making it an unforgettable dish. Amami brown sugar shochu, which is only allowed to be produced in the Amami Islands of Kagoshima Prefecture, is also available.
