Flavorful grilled cutlass! Famous bonito grilled on straw mats

Only the freshest inshore bonito is used, auctioned off by our own connoisseurs at the Makurazaki Inland Sea Market. The "Meramera Makurazaki specialty" is grilled bonito on straw, using our own unique method to bring out the aroma of the straw and the flavor of the bonito. Once you try it, you will never forget its deliciousness. At Meramera Makurazaki, you can also enjoy this flavorful grilled bonito with Kagoshima's famous jidori chicken sashimi, and fresh fish caught in Makurazaki, such as the first bonito from May to June and the returning bonito from October to January. In addition to Satsuma shochu "Shiranami," "Minankata," and "Makurazaki," the restaurant also offers a selection of very rare whiskies produced at the Tsunuki Distillery near Makurazaki, making it a perfect combination for whisky lovers to enjoy the cuisine.
