The "Meramera Makurazaki specialty" is grilled bonito on straw, using our own unique method to bring out the aroma of the straw and the flavor of the bonito. At Meramera Makurazaki, you can also enjoy this flavorful grilled bonito with Kagoshima's famous jidori chicken sashimi, and fresh fish caught in Makurazaki, such as the first bonito from May to June and the returning bonito from October to January. In addition to Satsuma shochu "Shiranami," "Minankata," and "Makurazaki," the restaurant also offers a selection of very rare whiskies produced at the Tsunuki Distillery near Makurazaki, making it a perfect combination for whisky lovers to enjoy the cuisine.
